Destination Imagination
We are still looking for parents who are willing to take on the exciting challenge of managing a Destination Imagination (DI) team, and for students who would love to be a part of a unique creative problem-solving experience! Please contact Ms. LaVenture if you are interested.
Up for the challenge, but need more students to fill out your team? I’ve got you covered!
Not sure how to get started or what to do? We have extensive support from current and former managers who would love to help, AND the district offers several training sessions for managers in November.
All teams are run by parents, so the best way to ensure a spot for your child is to volunteer! If you would like to know more about DI, here is a great resource or click here for more information.

Highly Gifted & Talented Testing Applications Due
Tomorrow, Friday, October 2, 2015 is the deadline for parents to submit an application for their child for the Highly Gifted and Talented test. It is a hard deadline and application will not be accepted after 6:00 p.m in the office of Gifted and Talented.
If you have not yet submitted your application but intend to, I highly recommend that you do the online application on the GT website (it is referred to as the Magnet Program application this year) or be prepared to deliver the application in person downtown at the Lincoln Street Administration Building by tomorrow. – Grace Hopley, GT Specialist
Parents of Gifted & Talented students
The Gifted and Talented Services Team at Denver Public Schools would like your opinion about our programs and services for DPS students. We are hosting a series of focus groups about Gifted and Talented (GT) identification procedures, application processes, programming options and related social/emotional support services. Your feedback will be used to help us improve our GT identification processes and programming. GT Focus Group Flyer for dates and times and more information.

FINAL REMINDER: It’s time to prepare the Cory Student Directory for publication and we need your help!

It is a great way to connect with your classroom activities and reach other parents.
Please complete the form by Monday, October 5 to be included. If you tried to complete the form already and couldn’t find Ms Fuchs or Ms McOwen, they are now in there among the teachers to choose from. If you have any questions or problems, please contact parent volunteer, Jennifer Miles.
Check the Parent Calendar for reminders like this…
