Friends of Cory

page image foc“Friends of Cory” is our annual giving campaign and the PTA’s second largest annual fundraising effort.

 The 2017-18 campaign is kicking off September 22nd and will run to October 27th.

Our goal is to raise $65,000 with 100% student family participation.

Last year, we raised $74,407 with a record-setting 87% family participation. Imagine what we could with 100% participation!

Did You Know…

  • Paraprofessional educators are funded by the PTA?
    Paraprofessionals provide teaching assistance in the classrooms lowering student-teacher ratio and providing valuable teaching differentiation.
  • The PTA pays for Full-time Music, Art, and PE teachers – the district funds part-time only?
  • School events and enrichment programs are all funded by the PTA?
    This includes field trips, the Cory Garden, learning and community nights.
  • Technology upgrades are made possible by PTA funding?
    Items such as the iMacs in the tech lab, Chromebook Carts, bottle filler water fountains, promethean boards, online learning subscriptions, and the new auditorium AV system were all funded by the PTA.

 

One of the PTA’s most important responsibilities is to raise funds to support Cory academics and programming.   The school district budget covers only basic operating costs, teacher salaries and benefits.  In order to achieve the learning outcomes we’ve come to expect at Cory, our PTA raises an average of $200,000 annually – approximately $550 per student – to help fund essential staff, programs and resources.

What You Can Do

You can participate. Every dollar counts and benefits your child.  Past donations have ranged from $10 to $10,000. Please give as generously as your budget will allow. The best way to grow the potential of our children is to invest in their education!

Friends of Cory operates with no overhead, so every dollar donated goes directly into programs that support all Cory students and your donation is 100% tax-deductible. There are no volunteer hours and no door to door selling. This is the easiest way to give to Cory without spending additional time!

Please remember to put your child(rens) name, teacher(s), room number(s) and your name in the “Add special instructions to seller”  field on the final donation page or complete and return the Friends of Cory Contribution Form to the Friends of Cory box in the school office.

By Check

Complete the Friends of Cory Contribution Form. Make checks payable to “Cory PTA” with “FOC” in the memo line. The completed form and check can be returned to the Friends of Cory box in the school office or mailed to Cory Elementary School | Attention Friends of Cory Annual Fund, PTA Treasurer |1550 S. Steele St. | Denver, CO 80210.

Company Match

Did you know that 65% of all companies offer some sort of donation match? This is an easy way to double or even triple your donation.  Check our list of companies that match.  Please note that even if you don’t see your company, double check with your human resources department.  If your company does match, please contact Karla Hand, Susie Moutray, or Lisa Cervantes-Glynn.
