Annual Fall Carnival- THIS Sunday!

Our Annual Cory Carnival is this Sunday, September 25 from 12-3 p.m. and you don’t want to miss the fun!

Wristband pre-sales are extended through TODAY (Friday) and are $10 each.  They will also be available at the main entrance.  Wristbands are $15 the day of the Carnival.

Thank you everyone who has signed up to volunteer the day of and/or donate items.  That being said, we are still in desperate need of a few more volunteers, loaned coolers, tents, and small bags of chips.  Please sign up here or on the sign-up sheets at the front entrance this week by wristband sales.

There will be a Volunteer Check In the day of the Carnival at the entrance/ticket sales table. Donations and loaner items may be dropped off this week, by 11:00 a.m. the day of the Carnival, or email us directly if you need help coordinating drop off.  Email Shannon Bell Schmidt or Christina Imamura with any questions!

FRIENDS of CORY UPDATE

At the conclusion of week 2 for the Friends of Cory Annual Giving Campaign, we have reached $18,000 with an 18% family participation rate.  Thank you all for your generous donations!

Just think of what we can do with donations from EVERY CORY FAMILY!

As parents, we have all worked very hard so our child(ren) could attend Cory Elementary. We send them to Cory because we have confidence their education is in good hands.  It is one of the best elementary schools in Denver for a reason-we raise the money necessary for the teachers, technology and programming to make it happen.  That is why every single dollar donated is vital to the success of the school and to our children’s education.

Large or small, your gift makes a difference.  MAKE YOUR DONATION TODAY!

PTA News

Thank you to all the families who have joined Cory PTA this fall and to everyone who has volunteered for any of the many upcoming events.  There is a lot going on and we are still looking for volunteers.
Next PTA meeting will be held Friday, October 7th –  Cafeteria 8:45 am.  Hope to see you there!  (coffee will be served).

National Walk to School Day is Wednesday, October 5th: featuring a special guest!!
This year Cory is super-sizing our annual Walk to School Day and celebrating with a special event on the playground!! You, your children and their teachers will all get to be a part of this exciting morning activity…start by walking, biking or scooting to school. Just by doing this, your kids can get 10-15min of the recommended 60min a day of physical activity – even before school starts!
Here are all the fun details…
We are getting the whole school involved and will start our activities at 8:30am sharp!   Therefore, you may need to plan to leave a few minutes earlier than usual – especially if you are going to walk! We will have volunteers stationed at popular pedestrian sites around the school to help everyone get to the playground safely and on time. Once everyone is on the playground, our special guest MILES THE BRONCO, will be there to participate in a physical activity exercise with Mr. Conklin (so be sure to wear your Broncos gear!). There will be music, healthy snacks and waters donated by our parents as well as fun give-aways provided by National Walk to School Day!
Can’t walk to school? Do your kids have a before-school program that morning? Do your kids ride the bus? No problem!! As long as your kids are at school at 8:30am, they can participate in the physical activity and be a part of the event! And all before-school students will be released by 8:30 so they can participate!
In order for this event to happen, we need some help. If you have time to be an event helper that morning (1hr commitment at the most) or could donate some simple food items, please go to the Sign Up Genius below…
Thank you for all your support of this fun and exciting event!!
