Third Grade

My name is Kerrie Trujillo and I am so excited to teach third grade at Cory! I grew up in New Jersey and attended The College of New Jersey, where I double majored in Elementary Education and Women’s & Gender Studies. I completed my student teaching in Dublin, Ireland.  After college, I moved out to Colorado and began my career in education.  In 2016 I received my master’s degree in teaching English as a Second Language through The College of New Jersey’s Global Studies Program. I studied abroad in Mallorca, Spain and Bangkok, Thailand with educators from all around the world.

This will be my thirteenth year teaching students at the intermediate grade level, and my tenth year in Denver Public Schools. I have taught fourth grade, fifth grade literacy, and sixth grade literacy and history. It is so important to me that students in my classroom feel safe, comfortable and valued. I am really passionate about my work as an educator, and am dedicated to providing all students with a rich and memorable learning experience. It is my goal to support all students in developing the skills necessary to become lifelong learners.

I currently live in Littleton with my husband, Dusty and our four children: Jack (6), Maggie (5), Henry (3) and our baby Claire (10 months).  We also have a playful scruffy German wirehaired pointer named Winston. In my free time I enjoy reading, photography, and being outdoors with my family and friends. I am also passionate about finding opportunities to travel and learn about other cultures!
