My name is Kelly Urbanowski and I’m the proud Assistant Principal here at Cory Elementary. I was born and raised in New York City and moved to Colorado in 2018. I earned my B.A. in Early Childhood Education from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and my M.A. in Special Education from Touro College in Brooklyn, NY. In May 2023 I graduated from DU with my Educational Leadership and Policy Studies Certification, Ritchie Cohort XX.
This will be my 10th year in education and 6th year with DPS. Prior to joining DPS, I was a special education teacher in Brooklyn, NY. Since, I’ve worked as a special education teacher at Carson Elementary & Senior Team Lead at Bromwell Elementary. I’m passionate about supporting the whole child and work to ensure Cory is safe and welcoming for each Cougar.
I currently live in Littleton with my husband Nathan, our toddler Eleonore (Ella), and our golden retriever Copper. I enjoy spending time outside, whether it’s on a hike with my family or out on my bike. To relax, I enjoy cooking, reading, and practicing yoga.
