MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Cory Community,

I hope everyone had a wonderful first week back!  I really enjoyed seeing all the students ready to be back in school.  It has been wonderful seeing students learning and collaborating in classrooms.

I want to thank all the families who joined us for our virtual Back to School night.  Since the Principal presentation was compromised by technical issues, please find a video of the presentation, the deck, and the Community FAQ.  Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.

VISITING CORY

Due to the current DPS Covid policy, parents will only be allowed in classrooms if they have gone through the volunteer process (link is the section below).  If you need to drop forgotten items off, you will do so at the front door (see below).  You may come into the building and come to the office if you need to check your student out for the day.  Again, you must go through the below process if you would like to visit or volunteer in the classroom.  Thank you for helping us keep Cory safe.

NEWS FROM THE LIBRARY

It was so wonderful to see all of your children in the library this week!  All classes will have weekly check-out time on either Tuesdays or Wednesdays this year.  As a reminder, students are able to keep their books for 2 weeks at a time.  If a book is overdue, both the student and the parent will receive an email.  It is my expectation that students are responsible with their library books (i.e. they are not lost or damaged).  DPS does not do library fines for lost books.  However, although not necessary, I always welcome a replacement copy for the lost book!
Thanks in advance for your support of the Cory library!
