Message from the Principal

Cory Caregivers,

For safety, we are asking all caregivers to buzz in and state the reason for visit.  We also ask for each caregiver to provide an ID when entering Cory. Thank you so much for your cooperation!

Today’s Field Day was a tremendous success! It was wonderful to see our students actively engaged, showing teamwork, respect, and joy throughout the day. Special thanks to Mr. Conklin and everyone who helped make it happen!

We were also excited to welcome our SKCEE kindergarten friends to Cory this week. They had a fantastic time learning all about first grade and building meaningful connections with our students—a perfect example of our commitment to community, equity, and fostering strong relationships.

Looking ahead, next week will be filled with celebrations, picnics, and creative projects as we joyfully close out the year. Our focus remains on creating a positive, inclusive, and student-centered environment where every child can thrive. We appreciate your ongoing support and partnership as we finish the year strong, prioritizing quality work, effective communication, and a safe, welcoming space for all.

Thank you for being part of the Cory community. Together, we continue to uphold our values and ensure every student’s success—socially, emotionally, and academically.

Collecting Student Technology for the End of the School Year

To ensure DPS is prepared for students to have Chromebooks at the start of next school year, all students must return their Chromebook and charger at the end of this school year.

Students should also return their hotspot and hotspot charger if they have one.

Schools will collect and inspect Chromebooks and hotspots when they are turned in. If there is any intentional damage or loss, a fee will be added to the student’s MySchoolBucks account.

Lost and Found

Please check the Lost and Found for any items that your family is missing.  Anything left in the Lost and Found at the end of the year will be donated on June 4.

Talent Show

The talent show will be held on Friday May 30th.

4th and 5th graders will perform in the morning and 1st – 3rd graders will perform in the afternoon.

Please keep in mind that this is a peer show, not a parent performance. There will be many classes of kids in the auditorium, and there are only enough seats for our Cory students. You are welcome to pop in and watch your child’s performance, or to get a picture or video, but it will be standing room only. Thanks for your understanding!

Online Registration for 2025-26

The registration Parent Portal will be open  for Cory starting May 5th for early registration for the upcoming school year.
