Parent Post 5/15/2020

Posted May 19, 2020

I apologize for the multiple emails.  We ran into a little issue with our email platform. All information is correct and updated!

Dear Cory Community,

As we move closer to the end of the school year we want to thank everyone for their collaboration and effort.  This has been a difficult time but we want to thank teachers for their preparation in providing great lessons and working to engage students in remote learning.  Thank you to families for supporting your student.  Your advocacy is greatly appreciated. Please use this link to provide feedback on our online model. Thanks to students for accepting the change to remote learning and doing their best to keep up with academic work.  Keep up the great teamwork, everyone.  Our last day for this school year will be May 29, 2020.  We have an exciting last week of school planned for students.  If you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out to your teachers. As you may be aware, Denver Public Schools will begin sending out surveys for families as we begin to plan the return to school in the fall. Please take a few moments to read the message from our Superintendent, Susana Cordova.   Next week, I will send out the plan for End-of-year pick-up and 5th grade continuation.
Please check out this amazing video created by our staff.
Technology update…
DPS has decided to allow DPS students to hold on to school Chromebooks through the summer to support learning over the summer. If you are moving or your child will NOT be attending Cory (or a local Middle School) in August, please plan to return the technology on May 26. Additionally, please know that, because the school year is almost over, we will not be distributing/replacing any student technology this school year.

Thank you for your collaboration!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE GARDEN
We need your help!  We have received our donation from Bonnie Plants for the Cory School Garden, and we need to get them planted!  We also have a new delivery of mulch coming and need help spreading it.

Our goal for the garden and chicken program is first to support any Cory families experiencing food scarcity.  We can do this anonymously and with great care.  No questions asked, but first, we need to get things growing.

Please, if you could find time in your family’s schedule to helps, we would be grateful.  We will continue to add slots as needed and ask for your support.

Below are the SignUp Links for each program.
