Hi Cory Families,
Hi Cory Families,
I want to express my gratitude to the community for the generosity shown at the auction. We are so thankful for a community that supports all students and teachers at Cory. I would like to extend a huge thank you to Brittney Frye, Savannah Graham, Casidy McNally, Dana Schoonover & Melissa Viola for organizing and creating such a wonderful event for our community. Hello Cory Families!
A little news from the Chicken Coop and Garden for the month of April 2022.
Chicken Coop News
The hens are laying like crazy with the warm weather. Soon, we will be able to remove the plexiglass windows so they can get lots of fresh air. Everyone is enjoying the new stone landscaping. Your students love coming to the coop each day. Look at the happiness on their faces! And the chickens are just as happy too!
Cory Garden News
Last week was Earth Week, and boy did our students contribute to the efforts of sustainability and caring for our earth.
The classrooms were very busy readying the raised beds for planting. Prepping the beds requires pulling all weeds, layering with compost, and turning the soil once the compost has been placed.
Here is what the students have done these past two weeks:
As Denver Urban Garden says: “gardens are places of experimentation and joy, requiring no advanced degrees or training for their human participants….”
