MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Cory Families,

Happy Friday! We concluded CMAS testing this week for our in-person students.  I was so impressed at the level of dedication each student showed during the assessment.  We will begin CMAS testing for our remote learners next week, Wednesday- Friday.

Please make sure that you complete your parent input form and registration (April 26th) for next school year.  The parent input form provides us information for class placements.

Bell Time for next school year
We wanted to let you know about some changes to Transportation Services that will affect our school’s schedule next year. Beginning in the 2021-22 school year, DPS will begin using a three-tier system for bell times. This means that most schools will start and end their day within one of three windows. Many schools will be implementing new start and end times within this new system, including Cory.

Beginning next school year, all grade levels at Cory will begin class at 8:50am and will dismiss at 3:50pm. We’re letting you know so you will have time to prepare and make adjustments for this change. We have requested for a change in bell time, but the final decision will come from transportation.  I will keep families up to date with any new information.

CSC
The Collaborative School Committee (CSC) is a great opportunity for parents to further participate in the education of our children by supporting decision making at the school. The CSC is a collaborative committee of school leadership, teachers, parents and classified staff who meet monthly to strategically design the school’s Unified Improvement Plan, analyze school data, provide guidance on and approve the school budget and staffing allocations, and advise the school leadership on school design decisions.  If you are interested in serving on the CSC, please complete a nomination form no later than May 5.

Free COVID testing for DPS students

DPS is expanding their partnership with COVID Check Colorado to offer free COVID-19 testing to students to support a safe return to school. Students will now be able to take an initial COVID-19 test before coming back to school as well as ongoing screening tests every other week. To register, please go to: https://www.primarybio.com/members/sign_up?redirect=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.primarybio.com%2Fm%2Fr%2Fdenverps&test_group=denverps

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – MORNING KISS-N-GO/SOUTH DOOR VOLUNTEERS

This is our last sign up genius of the year for Kiss n Go and South Door support!  Thank you to everyone who has volunteered.  There are still 6 weeks left in the school year to volunteer.  We could really use your help for a few minutes in the morning before school or right after the bell rings in the afternoon.  This has been so helpful for the Teachers and Administration in keeping our kids safe.  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080C45ABAA22A64-kiss1
