Message from the Principal

Cory Families,

As we go into Thanksgiving week, we want to share our gratitude to each of you for your support and dedication to both your students and the entire Cory community. We truly appreciate the role you play in the academic and social-emotional growth of our students. Whether it’s through attending events, volunteering, or encouraging your student’s love of learning, your involvement makes a significant difference.

Thank you to all that were able to join us for our Family Thanksgiving lunch. It was a wonderful event and we appreciate you taking the time to celebrate with us. A special thank you to the PTA for providing decorations and making our cafeteria and gym very festive.

Message from the District: Prioritizing Attendance Around the Upcoming Holiday Breaks

As we transition into the holiday season, we want to take a moment to remind you of the importance of consistent school attendance. Regular attendance not only builds students’ ability to follow daily routines but also is important to their personal, social, academic and emotional development.

Classrooms with the best attendance, least amount of tardies, or most improved attendance will be getting rewarded on Fridays with a special visit from our Cory Attendance Fairy starting in December. Ask your kiddo about this awesome opportunity!

With the upcoming holiday breaks, we encourage you to plan family activities around our school calendar to ensure your child is present in school all day, every day. Each day of instruction is vital in helping our students meet their educational goals and maintain their learning progress. Make-up work does not fully help students recover missed instruction, and one student’s absence affects classmates’ progress due to the collaborative nature of learning.Access the 2024-25 school year calendar to plan appointments and travel around the following breaks:November Break: Nov. 25-29

December Break: Dec. 23, 2024 – Jan. 6, 2025

We appreciate your partnership in supporting your child’s education and look forward to seeing them at school each day!

LUNCH RULES:

School lunch is free for all Colorado students if they take a full hot lunch that includes an entree, milk and fruit/veggie bar.

If a student only wants milk OR fruit/veggie bar, they need to have money in their Myschoolbucks lunch account.

Please make sure to put money on your students account so they are able to purchase other items if they would like. Thank you so much for your support.
