Students know how to use zombie and airplane arms to keep us safe!
Cory students know how to stay safe at recess and follow all social distancing rules! Great work kids!

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

It has been a joy to welcome back our students. Many students I talked to expressed that they were really happy to be back at school to be with their teachers and friends. Please continue to have conversations with your child about wearing their masks and maintaining distance from others. The consistent messaging in regards to safety from school and home is crucial to keeping everyone safe and schools open.

Thank you to our amazing PTA for the generous donations of lanyards for masks and a tent to support outdoor education.  Our school partnership with the PTA helps ensure our students have adequate support and resources for the school year.  Don’t forget to donate to the Friends of Cory to help fund our wonderful programs at Cory!

Please be sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  The weather is starting to get colder.  Even on warmer days, we all know how quickly the weather can change here in Colorado.  Always assume it is an outside day and make sure your child is prepared with boots, gloves, a hat, and a coat.  We appreciate your help with this.

Updated mask guidance:

  • Gator masks can not be worn.
  • Masks with exhalation valves or vents should NOT be worn to help prevent the person wearing the mask from spreading COVID-19 to others (source control).

Spirt Week next week!

  • Monday : college day (this is DPS-wide)
    Tuesday : hat day
    Wednesday : pj’s
Thursday : Cory pride (wear purple)
Friday : costume day (we will not have a party or parade- please do not send in snacks.)
  • Updated Family Handbook

Have a wonderful weekend and please stay warm! As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns or suggestions. Best,

FRIENDS OF CORY

Cory PTA’s annual giving campaign, Friends of Cory, is off and running. Thank you to those of you who have already contributed! If you have not yet contributed, please consider making your gift today.

Your generosity ensures our students at Cory Elementary have access to many resources including full-time Specials teachers like Ms. Ferguson, our Music Teacher. This year, Ms. Ferguson has created a virtual classroom where Cory students can explore and develop musical skills remotely. It is a wonderful resource outlet for students to further engage in the music curriculum. We are so fortunate to have a highly qualified, committed Music Teacher like Ms. Ferguson at Cory! It wouldn’t be possible without your support of Friends of Cory.

Please make your tax-deductible gift today. Your donation helps make Music and all the Specials at Cory possible. Thank You!

CORY DINES OUT – ESTER’S NEIGHBORHOOD PUB

Thank you all for your support at Bull and Bush – What a turn out! We raised nearly $1100!
Thank you for your takeout orders and stopping in for dining out!

Our next event is going to be at Ester’s Neighborhood Pub on Monday Oct., 26th!  Located at 1950 South Holly St., it has a wide variety of delicious home-cooked items.
Ester’s is graciously donating 10% of all sales all day long, 11-close, to our Cory PTA!   With plenty of outside dining, there is plenty of elbow room to accommodate our social distancing needs! Dine in, or take out some delicious treats! Take some time off from cooking and enjoy lunch and/or dinner out. Hope to see you then!
