Ms. Nagel’s class began building our prototypes of bird feeders today in science!
We had an exciting week with a guest teacher. Conrad’s dad came in to help us understand viruses and illnesses in Mrs. Keldin’s classroom.
Harper did a great job as Librarian today!
3rd Grade Mrs. Golden’s class working in the Cory garden
Every Friday in Ms. Tilson’s class they take time as a class to circle up and give shout-outs to one another for kind and respectful acts we’ve seen during the week. It’s always a highlight for me as a teacher to see what the kids notice & how they fill each other’s buckets.  You are raising some pretty awesome kiddos!
In Mr. Doyle’s class they are exploring a new website called 99math.com. This is a free tool the kids can work on at home to practice their fact fluency. I have never seen this class so quiet and engaged!

Dear Cory Community,

Happy Friday Cory Community!

I hope everyone has a great weekend.  I know this is a lengthy email, but please take the time to read through:)  Fall celebration is coming up! On 10/31 we will celebrate the season with costumes, treats and a parade! Costumes must be appropriate for school.  Students can wear masks as long as it is not scary or has gore.  No weapons or props with the costume.

At 2:00 students will be able to change into costumes and our class will engage in Fall festivities. We understand that not everyone celebrates, and that costumes/parades can be overwhelming for some. There will be alternative activities available in the art room with Mrs. Murphy, if your child does not participate. Please message your classroom teacher, so we can ensure accommodations for your student.

A couple of reminders:

  • Please remember NO dogs on school grounds. We love our pets but they can’t be on campus
  • The weather is changing and we go outside every day. Add a sweatshirt or jacket in your student’s backpack.
  • Keep an eye on the Lost and Found area. It is starting to fill up with items.

Denver Public Schools is pleased to launch the Strengthening Our PaCT (Parent Communication Technologies) Initiative, an all-DPS collaboration led by the Communications Department to improve the web-based communication tools used by Denver Public Schools. The vision of this project is for Denver Public Schools to have the most comprehensive, equitable and understandable web presence of any school district in the United States. We will do this in part by ensuring all families have the appropriate information to make decisions about their child’s education.

To that end, we are seeking family feedback on the main District website, DPSK12.org, and all departmental websites. We would like to ask that you take a brief survey that will inform the work that we do on these websites. Please take this survey by October 31, 2023. Your responses will be completely anonymous.

For more information, please visit dpsk12.org/strengthening-our-pact/. If you have any questions, please contact Jacob Turner, Web Developer – Designer, at jacob_turner@dpsk12.org.

Help!!! Lost and Found is overflowing. Please send your student to check Lost and Found and also feel free to check for yourself. All items in Lost and Found will be bagged and placed in the auditorium for two weeks beginning October 27th. Bagged up lost and found items can be accessed until November 10th at which point they will be placed in the clothing bin by the parking lot. Thanks!!!
