MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hi Cory Families,
This is the student principal, Mrs.Smiley reporting on how school was today.
Mrs.Wieser and I stopped in the first grade classrooms and took a photo with Mrs.Fuch’s Class because she was my first grade teacher.
We observed many classrooms and had many meetings today. I really enjoyed seeing kids working and learning. A student in Mrs.Hanock’s (4th grade) was speed reading! Can you believe one student read 100 pages in 4min with perfect comprehension! Then we helped set up dividers for indoor lunch. We pulled students to do the Morning Welcome Video for Monday. I also had the opportunity to make announcements to the entire school. Then we went out for first grade and had lunch! We had a very busy morning!
Best,
Ms. Smiley
Student Principal
If you are interested in being a sub at Cory, please follow this link. Having an adequate number of subs will support keeping Cory open and not have to pivot too remote because of an operational closure. If you are interested and have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
DPS has updated the COVID 19 Screening and Testing Decision Tree. Please use this document to support any decision making with your students.
Please don’t forget to check lost and found! We will bring all lost and found items out on the blacktop next Friday! Have a wonderful weekend! We will see everyone back on Monday!

Ms. Wilberg (our school psychologist intern) is planning for Ned’s Mindful Mission to present a schoolwide show on growth mindset! To host this show for no cost, the Cory PTA must sell some of Ned’s products afterschool on January 21 and 26. We are looking for a few parent volunteers to help manage the sales table.
