MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Happy Friday! I would like to celebrate all the families who joined us for Cory’s first literacy night.  Families had opportunities to listen to professional storytellers, how to publish from an author, an author reading of a new book and opportunities to exchange books and create bookmarks.  We had Dogman and Bell welcoming our families to the evening. We look forward to hosting this event next year.

I would like to thank all the families who came to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast at Cory.  I would like to send a special thank you to the families who took the time to set tables and decorate the cafeteria and gym to celebrate the season.  We appreciate the families who volunteer to make every opportunity special. Thank you!

Another shout out is to Milli Wolfson for coordinating an amazing book fair.  I would also like to thank all the families who worked many days for the book fair.  We appreciate everyone so much for taking the time to ensure all families have access to the book fair.  Thank you so much!

The Cory Cougars are still working with the theme of gratitude for our PSF factor. I am so grateful that I have the privilege to be the principal of such an amazing school. I can’t think of a more rewarding job or better place to work. A few things I’m thankful for:

  • Smiling kids who are happy to be at Cory, eagerly showing me their classwork, telling me about their lives.
  • An incredibly hard-working, intelligent and thoughtful staff that always reminds me that we are here for students first and foremost.
  • An incredibly involved parent community that collaborates with the staff to promote high expectations and support to meet them.
  • Events that allow the community to come together and celebrate with one another.
  • A beautiful building and setting that helps inspire creativity and pride in our surroundings.

Thanks for all you do!  Have a wonderful weekend and Holiday break!  We will see you all back on December 2nd.

We are set to send the paper to the publisher December 6 and will be accepting article submissions anytime between November 4 – December 4.  Please email your child’s submission and/or any questions you might have to thecorytimes@gmail.com. CORY “WORKS OUT” TO SUPPORT OUR SCHOOL!
Our next workout at Shred 415 could raise $600 if we can fill all the spots! Please see the link below for December and January workouts and sign up!
*There are 8 childcare spots with Shred 415. Please indicate if you need childcare when signing up. These will be on a first come first serve basis.

If you missed any prior communication on our work outs this is what we are doing.

Cory is partnering with gyms across Denver to raise money and bring Cory families a special workout each month. Come join the community, get your sweat on, and raise money for our school at the same time.

Each workout class held will be 30-60 minutes, $20/per person, and 90-100% of funds raised will go directly to Cory. Day of the week, and time of day will vary by gym. Space is limited based on capacity per location. First come first serve basis.
