Student supports and interventions are offered for any child who is struggling academically, behaviorally or emotionally, whether they need a temporary plan or a permanent plan to ensure their academic and/or emotional success. Supports can include:
If students continue to struggle after receiving interventions for at least six weeks, the school may invite the parent or guardian in for a Student Intervention Team (SIT) meeting. This team is made up of teachers, support staff, and parents, and the purpose is to problem-solve and determine the best ways to support the student at school. This process is referred to as Response to Intervention (RTI) which is part of a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model. Additional supports may be accessed in this model by students with disabilities through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a Section 504 Plan.
