Message from the Principal
Cory Families,
I wanted to take a moment to share my heartfelt gratitude to the community. I also have appreciation for the incredible progress our students have been making. It has been a true joy to watch them engage thoughtfully with the rubrics, participate in rich discussions, and tackle real-world problems with enthusiasm and creativity.
The growth I’ve seen in their problem-solving skills and their willingness to look for innovative solutions has been inspiring. More than that, the classroom environment has become a space where students feel safe to take risks, ask questions, and challenge themselves. The fun and excitement in our work is evident, and it’s clear that these experiences are helping our students develop a deep sense of confidence and curiosity.
Thank you for your continued support in fostering these opportunities for growth. It truly takes a village, and I’m so grateful for the partnership we share in nurturing these young minds.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Joan and Anna
This year Cory will be going through the recertification process to be a Gifted and Talented Magnet School in DPS. We would like for you to participate in a survey about the GT program at Cory. Your feedback will help us assess and improve the opportunities and support provided to students in the GT program, ensuring it continues to meet the diverse needs of our learners. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey by December 10. Your responses will be confidential and greatly appreciated. To access the survey,

In need of any Winter gear or supplies this season? ❄❄❄
If you and your family are in need of winter gear, supplies, or assistance during this winter season, please email Ms. Wilberg at rachel_wilberg@dpsk12.net. She will anonymously assist you to be sure your family has what they need!
As we transition into the holiday season, we want to take a moment to remind you of the importance of consistent school attendance. Regular attendance not only builds students’ ability to follow daily routines but also is important to their personal, social, academic and emotional development.
Classrooms with the best attendance, least amount of tardies, or most improved attendance will be getting rewarded on Fridays with a special visit from our Cory Attendance Fairy starting in December. Ask your kiddo about this awesome opportunity!
With the upcoming holiday breaks, we encourage you to plan family activities around our school calendar to ensure your child is present in school all day, every day. Each day of instruction is vital in helping our students meet their educational goals and maintain their learning progress. Make-up work does not fully help students recover missed instruction, and one student’s absence affects classmates’ progress due to the collaborative nature of learning.
Access the 2024-25 school year calendar to plan appointments and travel around the following breaks:
We appreciate your partnership in supporting your child’s education and look forward to seeing them at school each day!
