Message from the Principal
Cory Families,
We want you to know that Joan Wieser will be on intermittent leave in order to care for a family member. During this time, Anna Meyer will be stepping in as acting principal, ensuring that all school operations continue smoothly and that our students’ needs remain a top priority.
We understand that changes like this can raise questions, and we want to assure you that the well-being of our students and the quality of their education will remain unaffected. Our leadership team is fully committed to providing the support and continuity that our school community relies on.
We kindly ask for your understanding and support during this time. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to the school office, and they will be happy to assist you.
Thank you to everyone that came to our STEAMM Night as either a participant or volunteer! It was a great event and we especially want to shout out Cory’s incredible art teacher, Shannon Murphy, for coordinating it.
Our Book Fair was a huge success! Thank you for supporting our students’ love of reading and thank you to the PTA for ensuring the Book Fair always had plenty of volunteers.
We hope to see you on Thursday for our Family Thanksgiving Lunch. Please see the updated schedule at the bottom of the post for the time and location of each class.
Each month Cory will focus on four words as a whole school. Our hope is you will partner with us and attempt to use these words in your life outside of school. Students will be able to share when they heard or used the words each month by writing about it and placing it in the bucket outside room 204.
November’s vocabulary words are: cornucopia, eleemosynary, crepuscular, sublime
Have a wonderful weekend!

As we transition into the holiday season, we want to take a moment to remind you of the importance of consistent school attendance. Regular attendance not only builds students’ ability to follow daily routines but also is important to their personal, social, academic and emotional development.
With the upcoming holiday breaks, we encourage you to plan family activities around our school calendar to ensure your child is present in school all day, every day. Each day of instruction is vital in helping our students meet their educational goals and maintain their learning progress. Make-up work does not fully help students recover missed instruction, and one student’s absence affects classmates’ progress due to the collaborative nature of learning.
Access the 2024-25 school year calendar to plan appointments and travel around the following breaks:
We appreciate your partnership in supporting your child’s education and look forward to seeing them at school each day!
