What is PBIS?

PBIS is also a part of SEL that is preventative and proactive, has clear behavior expectations, and reinforces/ praises kids for engaging in those positive behaviors related to the Cory/ RAOK Values!

PBIS

Peace PALS – student leadership opportunities starting in December 2023
- P A L S is an acronym to represent the goals of the program.
- P is for Peace including conflict resolution, no bullying, mediation, peace place, and communication.
- A is for Acceptance including tolerance, accepting differences and gifts in all, appreciating the uniqueness of each individual, and reducing prejudice.
- L is for Love including kindness, respect, and caring.
- S is for Social Responsibility including sportsmanship, fairness, service, responsible citizenship, and civility.
- Our 5th graders will be trained in conflict resolution and peer mediation. This means, the 5th grade, Peace Pals will support our younger students in resolving conflicts during their recess time. With the assistance of trained peer mediators, our students will resolve conflicts in a fair and meaningful manner using the 5 Step Peace Process.
Kindness Tickets: Students earn Kindness Tickets when they are caught showing the value of the month
PRIDE Tickets: Students earn a golden PRIDE Ticket when they go above and beyond to show our values!
First Friday Assemblies: Students that earned Kindness Tickets and Golden Tickets are invited to come up on stage and choose a prize! This is a great opportunity for students to celebrate each other for living our values
