Fall Break is next week from 11/20-11/24, so we will not be open next week. As it is the season for gratitude, I want to take this opportunity to share how thankful I am for the students, staff, and community at Cory. I hope you all take time to be with family and friends. Have a restful and relaxing break and we will see you when we are back, starting Monday, 11/27!
We wrapped up our fourth unit of TSEAL, Gratitude. Check out the lessons here. When we return from Fall Break, Cougars will begin the next unit of TSEAL, Bullying Prevention and Upstander Behavior. We will be hosting an in-school assembly for 3rd-5th grade around Digital Citizenship and Cyber Bullying on December 1st.
Why should you attend CSC? It gives you a different perspective on the school’s practices from budgeting to crisis management and everything in between. CSC is different from the PTA in that we work collaboratively with administration, faculty, parents and the community to problem solve to meet the schools needs and expand upon the schools mission of serving every student in our community. Please join our meetings!! Our next meeting is Nov. 30th.
Our Equity Team will be meeting on Nov. 28th to plan for our equity work with students. We are planning on how to engage all our Cougars with education on hate language. Please join and share your voice and ideas!
Thank you PTA for the wonderful Book Fair you held for us at Cory. The lunch space for Thanksgiving was beautiful decorated. We appreciate all of you and all the hard work you did this week to take care of the students in our community!!
A couple of reminders:
Please help us by bringing your students to school on time. We start right away in the morning with lessons. School begins at 8:10
The weather is getting cooler so please make sure that students come to school with appropriate clothing as we will go outside on colder days.
Please remember NO dogs on school grounds. We love our pets but they can’t be on campus
Please do not ride bikes, scooters on the playground during drop off or pick up. We have over 400 students coming and going at the same time and would hate to have anyone get hurt.
Please make sure to continue following the parking lot and Kiss and Go guidelines to insure our students stay safe.
Keep an eye on the Lost and Found area. It is starting to fill up with items.
Please make sure to call the attendance line if your child is going to be absent.
Shadow Sign Up Genius Parents will need to pick up their student at Cory and walk them over to Merrill and then pick them up from Merrill when it is over.
