Cory Caregivers,
What a wonderful week we've had! I wanted to share some highlights and celebrate our incredible Cory community.
Today we celebrated our First Friday with a focus on our value of Integrity. We honored students who demonstrated honesty, responsibility, and doing the right thing—even when it's hard.
Ways to Continue This Conversation at Home:
Talk about integrity: What does it mean to be honest and do the right thing? Why is it important?
Share stories: Tell your child about a time you showed integrity or made a difficult but honest choice
Ask reflective questions: "When was a time you did the right thing even though it was hard? How did it feel?"
Model integrity: Let your child see you making honest, responsible choices in everyday situations
Activities to Engage Together:
Integrity challenges: Set small daily challenges (e.g., "Tell the truth even if it's embarrassing," "Return something that isn't yours")
Read books about integrity: Look for stories that celebrate honesty and responsibility
Discuss real-life scenarios: Talk through situations where integrity matters—at school, at home, with friends
Celebrate choices: Acknowledge when your child demonstrates integrity, no matter how small
We are so proud of our Cory Cougars! This week, students completed the first week of CMAS testing, and we couldn't be more impressed with their effort and attitude.
Students were eager to show their skills and knowledge
They were excited and engaged with the writing prompts
The classroom was filled with accomplishment and pride
Students persevered through challenging tasks with positive attitudes
Please celebrate your child! Take time this weekend to acknowledge their hard work and effort. Whether they're worried about how they performed or feeling confident, let them know you're proud of them for trying their very best. That's what matters most.
A special thank you to our Community School Committee for meeting this week to discuss our Unified Improvement Plan (UIP) goals and our 2026–27 school calendar. Your partnership and input are invaluable as we plan for next year.
We are excited to announce that we will have additional planning days next year dedicated to building our skills and capacity as a staff. These days will allow us to:
Deepen our instructional expertise
Strengthen our systems and supports
Ensure we're meeting students at their highest level
Continue our work around equity, inclusion, and behavior management
This investment in teacher learning will directly benefit our students and our school community.
Have a Wonderful Weekend! Thank you for all you do to support Cory. Enjoy time with your families, celebrate your children, and have a restful weekend.
Joan and Anna
