Cory Caregivers,

Thank you to the PTA for hosting a wonderful Spooky Story Night this week! It was a fun way for our community to come together and celebrate the season. We truly appreciate the PTA’s support of our students and families.

This week, our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders completed their district interim assessments. We are so proud of their perseverance and integrity throughout the testing process. The data also revealed valuable opportunities to support our students’ growth and acceleration moving forward.

Thank you all for your continued partnership. Wishing you a safe and fun weekend!

Inclement Weather

As we enter the season of colder weather, we want to remind you about what to expect and how to stay informed in case of school closures or delays due to inclement weather. We do ask that students come prepared for the weather as we will go outside unless it is too cold or too wet. We will continue to follow dismissal procedures on inclement weather days.

What to Know:

  • School may be delayed, dismissed early, or closed depending on weather conditions to ensure student safety.

  • Please plan accordingly for transportation and child care in case of changes.

Where to Find Updates:

  • Check the district website and local news stations for announcements.

  • Cory will send out information on Class Dojo and Thrillshare

  • Follow our school’s social media pages for timely updates.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in keeping our students safe during this season. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Thank you for partnering with us.

Mental Health Corner:

What is TSEAL? Transformative Social Emotional Academic Learning

“Transformative SEAL” is a process whereby young people and adults build strong, respectful, and lasting, relationships that facilitate co-learning to critically examine root causes of inequity, and to develop collaborative solutions that lead to personal, community, and societal well-being.

This form of TSEAL is aimed at redistributing power to promote social justice through increased engagement in school and civic life. It emphasizes the development of identity, agency, belonging, curiosity, and collaborative problem solving

It's critically important that school wide TSEAL implementation intentionally nurtures an environment in which educators gain social and emotional competence by learning, collaborating, and modeling their social and emotional skills. Along with these social and emotional skills, schools must also fold in conversations about race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, language and ability so that the conversation about TSEAL takes into account the student’s fullest identities. It is recommended that schools do a deep dive into understanding how educators, students, and community can navigate conversations about race, sex, gender, ableism and other social identities in order to establish systems and supports that strengthen both adult and student Social Emotional Academic Learning.

Come along on our Cory TSEAL journey!
