Dear Families,
Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time. We would like to continue to encourage everyone to stay healthy and do your part to get our community more healthy – wear masks, socially distance, wash your hands, keep your social groups very small. We all need to work together to keep our students at school in person and get more students back into our schools. THANK YOU!
DPS COVID-19 indicators continue to trend in a concerning direction. DPS is cautiously continuing with in-person learning for ECE through second-graders with full support from Denver Health experts. In their review of the data, they have found very low transmission rates within our schools.
A few updates:
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns or suggestions.
Best,

Cory PTA’s annual giving campaign, Friends of Cory, is off and running. Thank you to those of you who have already contributed! If you have not yet contributed, please consider making your gift today. As a committee we have decided to extend the timeline of the campaign until November 20, 2020, giving the community more time to donate.
Your generosity ensures our students at Cory Elementary have access to many resources including full-time Specials teachers like Ms. Alexander, our Visual Art Teacher. Not only does Art allow our kids to be creative it also allows them to create wonderful memories and keepsakes for us all. We are so fortunate to have a highly qualified Visual Art Teacher like Ms. Alexander at Cory! It wouldn’t be possible without your support of Friends of Cory.
Please make your tax-deductible gift today. Your donation helps make Cory the best it can be. Thank You!
This year Cory Book Fair will be a virtual event, held November 16-29. All book orders will be delivered and you will not have to pay shipping costs on orders over $25. As usual, a portion of the proceeds go to Cory and will be used to purchase birthday books, fill classroom libraries, purchase STEM products for the classrooms, and supplement our teachers classroom needs throughout the year.
Every year during the book fair the student council or other groups within the school hold a gently used book drive for underprivileged schools within DPS. This year, since most classes aren’t in person and due to restrictions due to Covid-19, with needs within our own Cory community, a $50 Scholastic gift card will be given to families in need to help fill their home libraries. Each sale made during the fair will go towards the purchase of gift cards for 32 Cory families. We are committed to maintaining confidentiality and preserving family dignity as we facilitate this community-giving project.
