Principal’s Update

Happy President’s Day Weekend!

I am reposting the following as reminders.  We really need your help with this first one regarding Cold and Flu Season, as this week we saw an INCREASE in students coming in to school sick when they met the guidelines for staying at home.  Following these guidelines below,  it is imperative that you keep your child home at school if they are sick, please help us with this.

Regarding the second bullet, send me your stories of kindness, as we would love to celebrate how our community shows kindness and caring towards others!

  • Cold and Flu Season Guidelines- Please help us by keeping your child home if they have a fever, are throwing up and/or have diarrhea- and keep them home until they have been free of these symptoms for 24 hours. Now is a great time to refresh yourself on our Health Policies, so please click here to review.  Masking your child’s fever and sending them to school not only prevents your child from getting the rest they need, but also spreads the germs to other students and staff, continuing the cycle of sickness.  Thank you for helping our school stay as healthy as can be!
  • PSF Character Strength- Our Personal Success Factor Character Strength for February is Social Intelligence, often defined as being aware of how your actions influence or impact others. We decided that Empathy and Kindness/Caring would be good themes for this month and are “spreading the love” by showing a variety of ways to be kind and caring to others.  Keep an eye on our Cory Facebook Page for snapshots of how our classrooms are celebrating this character strength and be sure to read more about each of the Personal Success Factors by clicking here.  We would also LOVE to hear how your family is “spreading the love” so please click HERE to send any stories and/or pictures to me so we can share and celebrate as a community!
  • Spirit Gear Reminder: Grab your Cory Tee’s! Our online drive is happening now! Don’t miss out on the new gear for the year! Click HERE to see the newest gear, including a swanky new workout shirt!  #Reppin’CoryWhileWorkingOut!

Everyone enjoy your weekend and remember- NO SCHOOL on Monday!

Jennifer Harris, Proud Principal of Cory
