REMINDER ABOUT STUDENTS ARRIVING LATE

Learning begins at 8:55am
Students arriving late from 8:55am – 9:05am will report to the gym doors on the patio.  No more need to dash around to the front door.
Students arriving after 9:05am will need to go to the front door to check into the office before going to class. Parents/guardians are still unable to enter the building.

MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Cory Community,

As I walk down the halls, peeking in classrooms, I am overwhelmed at the level of student engagement in classrooms. It is wonderful to hear the classrooms buzzing with collaboration, opinions, evidence, and challenging conversations. We want to foster unique world-class learners who bring diverse perspectives and gifts/talents to the world.  I am very proud of our Cory cougars and staff.

Cory had a safety walkthrough this week. I am thrilled that our student systems and procedures are following all DPS guidelines.  We do have to make some adjustments to our adult spaces.  We will continue to improve the entry for students in grades 4/5 so students do not congregate at the entrance.

I would like to thank our PTA for supporting parent volunteers for Kiss and Go.  I appreciate the support as we are short handed with duties.  We are continuing to improve our drop-off and pick-up procedures.  I will continue to communicate those changes.

We would also like to thank our PTA and 1st grade families for their overwhelming generosity on Wednesday’s Stock the Lounge.  Our afternoon “pick me up” time has been filled with so many yummy treats.  We are grateful!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Best,

Joan Wieser
