MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Cory Community,

I hope this finds everyone healthy and safe. Students are so happy and excited to be back. They’ve done a great job following our safety protocols and respecting social distancing expectations. More importantly, they are engaged in fantastic learning experiences!  I am proud that our remote classrooms and how hard students are working and engaging on learning tasks.

I would like to shout out our amazing PTA for supporting a refreshing coffee cart. The staff appreciated the hot treat  and support!!

The PTA also helped us honor Alison Walker by purchasing a street sign with her name! Alison is such an important part of our school community and we appreciate the support to celebrate and honor her.

In-Person Updates:

  • We are asking all families to send their student with an old towel or trash bag to sit on when we are outside.

Have a wonderful weekend and don’t forget no school on Monday because it is a holiday!

Best,

Joan Wieser

PARKING AT CORY

*  For the safety of our students, please remember there is no drop off in the Cory parking lot.  If you are using the parking lot for pick-up or drop-off, please find a parking space and walk your child inside the fenced area.  We are seeing students being dropped in the middle of the lot and dashing across to the playground while parents are getting in a hurry and darting around cars.  This is an extremely dangerous situation.

*  Please do not park in the reserved spots, even for a short period of time, unless one of these two spots are yours.  The families to whom these spots belong paid for these spots at last years auction.  Please be considerate.

TUTORING – SOUTH HIGH SCHOOL KEY CLUB

Hi Cory families! The Key Club, a service based club, at South High School, would like to offer free tutoring to any students who would like some additional support. Starting in January every Tuesday from 3-4 pm there will be a google meet where students can stop by to get some 1 on 1 assistance from a high school student in any subject. If you are interested please send an email to 731192@dpsk12.net to be added to an interest list where you will receive further information when the time approaches.
