Cory Elementary PTA Presents the 2017 Annual Auction

Heavy hors d’oeuvres provided by Three Tomatoes Catering.  Live entertainment by Mannequin the Band.

 

Get your costumes ready and dress as your favorite TV or movie character!  This is Cory PTA’s most important fundraiser of the year and an event you won’t want to miss.  Enjoy an evening of live entertainment, food from local restaurants and spending time with other members of Cory’s extraordinary community while we raise much needed funds for our children’s education.

To make this event a successful fundraiser for our kids:

Be a Star Family for Cory Elementary with your $125 Family Sponsorship-family sponsors will receive a digital image for social media use, recognition on the auction’s Facebook event listing and entrance in a VIP drawing at the auction on April 7.

Donate wine-at our Stock the Cellar party on January 28 | 4-7 p.m. open house at the home of Michael and Lynette Heintz | 1230 S St Paul Street or via a dollar amount on the ticket website.

Donate gift cards-at our Gift Card party on February 23 | 6-8 p.m. open house at the home of Kris and Haven Smith | 1220 S York Street.

Donate auction items-Cory needs your timeshares, vacation homes, chef’s dinners and other experiences!  Get other families together to create Buy-A-Shares and Live Auction items!

The parent-led auction committee is looking for Live Auction items, Silent Auction items, Corporate Sponsorships, Swag Bag and Buy-A-Share items:

If you have a mountain residence, vacation, chef dinner, experience or other big ticket item you would like to donate to the Live Auction, contact Margit Archer.

If you have silent auction items you would like to donate-gift certificates, wine, spirits, services-contact Dana Schoonover.

If you have a business and would like to sponsor, granting your brand access to 200+ households in the Cory Merrill-Belcaro-Bonnie Brae demographic, contact Amy Duclos.

If you have a business or work for a company that hands out logo items, product samples or coupons that you think would be great for Swag Bags, contact Haven Smith.

If you would like to host a Buy-A-Share party or experience, contact Holly Carpenter.

Cory Elementary has been an anchor in our neighborhood for decades, and we are on a mission to keep our strong academic tradition thriving. Cory consistently receives the top rating of “Distinguished” within the Denver Public Schools School Performance Framework. It is a Highly Gifted and Talented magnet site with over 89% of the student body testing as proficient in Math, Writing and Reading. Best of all, Cory has been named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. We are the only DPS elementary school and one of 329 total schools in the entire country to receive this award. In Colorado, taxes alone do not fund our vision of a first-rate education for our children. Colorado currently ranks 41st out of 50 states in spending per student, and Denver Public Schools has reduced funding per student by over $400 in the past five years. As part of our effort to counter balance these budget shortfalls and maintain our high level of education, we host the Cory Annual Auction. Our largest fundraiser of the year, this silent and live auction event will take place on April 7, 2017 at City Hall Event Center in Denver. 250+ parents and community members from the Bonnie Brae, Belcaro, Cory-Merrill, Stokes Place and Washington Park areas will be in attendance.
