Principal Updates

It’s Report Card season!  We know that accessing the Report Cards can be tricky, so we have created a handy-dandy reference document for you.  Please click HERE for this document and contact your child’s teacher with any questions.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to thank you to all of you who came to our Thanksgiving Lunch yesterday!  What a treat it is to have all of our wonderful parents come and celebrate our month of GRATITUDE!  I hope you got to read the wonderful literature provided  by the 1st Graders regarding how to cook a turkey. They had very important directions that must be followed for a successful day!  Special thank you to Laura Quarterone and Rositsa Dimitrova for organizing the beautiful colorful decor on every table!

More thank-you’s:

  • CSC Fall Forum– I am also thankful for those of you who were able to come to our CSC Fall Forum.  My team and I appreciated the time you took out of your busy schedules (on a crazy weather day, none the less!) to hear about our School Performance and operations.  Our CSC will be continuing to offer opportunities for parents to give feedback and hear about celebrations and next steps, so we look forward to continuing our work together.
  • Fall Clean-Up- My oh my!  Our grounds look B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L! Thank you to all the families who showed up to help with getting our grounds ready for the upcoming winter season.  It is really honorable of all of you to spend time on a weekend giving back to our school and we are very appreciative!  Special shout out to Skeeter Buck, Summer Griffin, Sam and Jay Sturhahn for organizing this productive day.

Calling all 4th Grade Cory Families: Help us Stuff the teacher lounge with treats on Tuesday November  29th!

4th grade Cory Cougars let’s show our teachers how much we love and appreciate them. Please bring your favorite treats to “stuff” the teacher lounge on Tuesday Tuesday November 29th.  Treats might include: bag of chips, package of candy bars, bag of candy, chocolate bars, cookies, box of k-cups, nuts, frozen dinners, box of microwave popcorn, six pack of sodas, waters, sparkling waters, granola bars or any other treat you can dream up.
Kiddos should bring their treat to the table by the couches before school.  They may also write a note.  Note cards will be available before school.
Come on Cory Cougars let’s show our LOVE!

THIS MONTH ONLY!  Enrollment Drive for Choose Cory @ Checkout Program

No matter where you plan to provision for Thanksgiving (or deal-hunt on Black Friday), you can benefit Cory without spending an extra cent!  This year, our “Choose Cory @ Checkout” program includes two great options:

  • Safeway and King Soopers reloadable gift cards (available for purchase on the Cory website http://cory.dpsk12.org/supportcory/everyday-giving/)
  • the option to benefit Cory through use of the Benefit Mobile app.  Through Benefit Mobile, digital cards are purchased at no added cost and delivered within seconds to your mobile app for immediate in-store redemption. Each purchase earns up to a 20% rebate that is sent to the cause you choose (ahem, such as Cory Elementary!)

Sweetening the deal even more, Benefit Mobile will send an extra $100 Cory’s way for every 10 new users who make a first purchase on the app before Nov. 30!  Download the Benefit Mobile app for iPhone or Android today, and begin the verification process by Thanksgiving Day in order to be cleared for a purchase by Nov. 30th.  Learn more and download the app at https://www.benefit-mobile.com/

5% back may not sound like a lot, but it can ADD UP!  If the family of every Cory student used a Cory-connected gift card for just $100 of routine monthly purchases, Cory could raise over $21,000 this year!  Choose Cory @ Checkout, and support Cory without spending an extra cent!

VARSITY FOOTBALL – ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TO STATE CHAMPS!

Our Rebels have moved on to the 4A State Quarterfinals after a hard fought 14-0 victory over #16 Vista Ridge this past Saturday.  Our hard hitting Rebel defense recorded their fifth shutout in as many games and although our offense found a challenge in the Wolves massive defensive line, we were able to find the end zone on a couple of occasions!  Thanks to all the students, staff and community who came out and supported the team.
