Updates from the Principal

Happy holidays!  Hard to believe the holiday season is already upon us (doesn’t that happen EVERY year? Suddenly the holidays are here and I am still stuck in September!).

Below are a quick few updates from me.

  • Spring Assessment Calendar- We will be entering our annual heavy assessment season and need all students to be bright eyed and bushy tailed, ready to show their smarts!  If you can please align your doctors appointments and such to ensure that your child is here on their assessment day, we would really appreciate it!  Please click here for more information.
  • Winter Break- Our winter break is from December 21- January 6.  Students are back on Monday, January 9th.

I hope you all enjoy the break and make many memories.  Looking forward to seeing all of you in 2017!

Jennifer Harris

Proud Principal of the Cory Cougars

Cory Annual Auction – Family Sponsorships and Auction Items Needed

SCREENAGERS, 1/11/2017, 6pm, Merrill Auditorium

The Merrill PTSA is thrilled to bring SCREENAGERS to Merrill.  SCREENAGERS probes into the vulnerable corners of family life, including the director’s own, and depicts messy struggles, over social media, video games, academicsscreenagers and internet addiction. Through surprising insights from authors and brain scientists solutions emerge on how we can empower kids to best navigate the digital world.

Parents are encouraged to attend with their students and participate in the staff led discussion immediately following the film. This film is also open to incoming Merrill 6th graders. Please spread the word!

Cookies and popcorn will be provided, and the movie is free to attend. The Merrill PTSA will be collecting $5 gift cards of choice (DQ, McDonalds, iTunes, Jamba Juice, etc.) at the door to support our PBIS program, Positive Behavioral Intervention Supports.

We hope to see you on January 11th!
