Updates from the Principal

Happy Monday, everyone!

WOW, WOW, WOW!  I hope you were all able to make our Annual Auction last Friday.  It was an incredible event in a beautiful venue!  Thank you to the Auction Committee who put in HOURS of time in planning for such a successful event.  Thank you to all of you for contributing to our school, it is important for us to have the supports that your funding provides.

Speaking of funding, please join us at UPark Elementary TOMORROW (Tuesday) night from 6:00-7:00 for a presentation on Colorado State Funding for Schools. This presentation will help inform all of us of the gaps in our state funding and opportunities for you to help change some of our current legislation that prevents our students from getting the funding they need to succeed!  You should have received a hard copy in Friday Folders, but just in case, click Great Education Colorado Presentation for more information.   Hope to see you there!

During the month of April, we are celebrating and honoring the Personal Success Factor of ZEST. Zest is passion with a purpose, that sense of motivation and drive that gets you going and keeps you excited. To find out more about what gives YOU zest, we are inviting every student at Cory to create a Passion Poster. This poster would showcase something that you are passionate and excited about — anything from soccer to spelling, from rainforests to rocks, from algebra to Azerbaijan! The sky is the limit.  Here are some questions to help you:

  • What topic gives you a sense of zest?
  • What do you love learning about, even outside of school?
  • What would you be excited to share with our Cory community?

Write or draw all about it on a 12 by 18 sheet of construction paper, and bring it in to your teacher by April 21, to hang in the halls for everyone to see!

Lastly, we are having our monthly CSC Meeting this Thursday from 4:00-5:00.  Click HERE for a link to our agenda.

In partnership,
Jennifer Harris
Proud Principal of the Cory Cougars
