MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Good Afternoon Cory Families,
Cory Elementary values input from families – and we want to hear from you! The Family Satisfaction Survey (formerly known as the Parent Satisfaction Survey) is an opportunity for you to reflect on your experience with our school and share feedback to help us improve. This survey is designed to help us make positive changes across the district and is a part of our School Performance Framework (SPF).
This year, we are offering online access to the survey, hoping it will be easier to complete. The survey is available online in English, Spanish, Amharic, Arabic, Burmese, Chinese, French, Nepali, Russian, Somali, Swahili and Vietnamese. To take the survey, login to Parent Portal and the survey instructions will be in the upper righthand corner of your homepage. Click. Submit. It’s as easy as that!
If you need help logging into Parent Portal, filling out the survey, or need access to a computer, our front office staff is available to assist you. This survey is anonymous and confidential. We will never see your individual responses, only the total and averages at the school level. To participate, please complete the survey by June 7, 2019 which is online. An active link will be emailed to families on Monday, 5/6. Each household should only fill out one survey. If you have more than one student at a school, we ask that you think about your oldest student and answer the question based on them. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to learning from your input.
We want to thank the families, teachers and students for putting together a wonderful first grade opera! Students did a wonderful job engaging in a performance and giving 100% of their energy to the performance. We love when students can showcase their learning through a performance.
Cory Culture Week is next week! We are excited for students not only to share about their culture but learn about other cultures across the world. Bridges of Cultural Understanding, the Mizel Museum’s traveling exhibits, teaches cross-cultural understanding through an interactive presentation of themes and rituals from around the world. Mobile cases hold a wide array of cultural objects that invite students to explore commonalities and differences among various traditions from May 6 – May 10th. Students will then have a presentation on May 10th to capture their learning.
Have a wonderful weekend!
