From the Library!

Last day of check-out for the school year is Monday, May 16th.  All books are due back to Cory’s library by Monday, May 23rd.  If a book is lost, the fine must be paid before the school year ends.  Typically, fines are $5.00 for a paperback and $10.00 for a hardcover.

Also, check out the amazing 5th grade radio shows on the library wiki:  http://corylibrary.wikispaces.com/5th+Grade+Early+Colonies+Radio+Shows. Students completed this collaborative social studies project with Mrs. Miller during library/technology class after spending time in the classroom learning about the history of our country’s early colonies.  Enjoy!

We are desperately needing parents to volunteer for PTA Board Member positions,  particularly Vice President and Treasurer.  Without these positions filled, the PTA will not run and many of Cory’s loved events will most likely not take place as the funds we raise to support our school will not be sufficiently raised.  Please consider volunteering your time to support our school!  Email questions or if you are interested in one of these positions, Pam Wandry at pammerscush@gmail.com or Compete THIS Self Nomination Form and submit to the front office.

Cory Dance was a huge hit!

Thanks to everyone who attended the Cory Dance last Friday night.  It was a huge success.  We had over 200 people attend.  The kids were really rocking out to the awesome music provided by our DJ Chuck Woodford.  From 1st graders to 5th graders and their families everyone enjoyed some wonderful downtime at school rocking out to great music, enjoying yummy food from the food trucks, playing on the playground, hoola hooping and just enjoying our awesome community.  It was a beautiful night and a joyous event.  As an aside we raised about $650 from donations and the % of sales given by the food trucks and after expenses we will be able to bank about $400.  Thanks to everyone for coming out!
