REMINDER: THERE IS NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY, 3/4, FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Happy Friday Cory Community!
We had a wonderful week full of learning and engaging activities. The Cory team is working hard to engage students in global awareness, service learning and opportunities for creative expression. This week was a wonderful opportunity to see our mission/vision in action. Second grade students showcased their learning about change makers and presented a mini museum tour for parents to learn more about how to make change in our world. It was wonderful to see kids have so much ownership and excitement about learning.
Our 5th grade students explored social change and making a difference in the world. Students presented about different individuals that drove for change in our world. Through this experience, students were able to see how individuals can make an impact. Students were able to understand how to support vulnerable populations. This ties in so well with the service learning project in which students raised funds to purchase goats and chickens in order to provide a steady supply of protein to feed children and help struggling families in developing nations. It was wonderful to see the excitement and enthusiasm to present and share their learning.
Have a wonderful long weekend!

INFORMATION REGARDING FLORIDA/STEELE ST.
I wanted to write to you and let you know of a project that will be installed near the Cory-Merrill Campus that will be advancing pedestrian safety at the intersection of Florida and Steele as a result of much of your participation during outreach phases to increase pedestrian mobility in this area! Denver Public Works will install a painted bollard bulb out at the intersection of E. Florida Avenue and S. Steele Street, on or after ( depending on weather ) March 18, 2019. The installation will result in removal of on-street parking along this stretch of S. Steele Street, which is anticipated to start mid March before the installation (see map ). Signage indicating where you can and cannot park will be placed a day in advance of the installation. It is anticipated that construction will be complete within about a week, but is dependent on weather conditions. Additional information can be found via the flyer attached.

She received a classroom bundle of Bloxels, four Dash Robots, Coding Challenge Cards and Curriculum for the Wonder products (Dash robots), and four Evo by Ozobot robots.
