3:00 PM – 3:30 PM – NO EARLY RELEASE

We ask that you do not pick up for early release after 3:00 pm.  Calls to the classroom will not be made after 3:00 pm to minimize classroom interruptions as the teachers are preparing their students for dismissal.  We understand that emergencies happen. Please pick up before 3:00 pm or after the dismissal bell at 3:30 pm.

CLASSROOM DELIVERIES

In order to cut down on classroom interruptions we will be implementing a new delivery process.  If your child forgot their water bottle, backpack, lunch, etc., please place the item on the bookshelf in the office along with a delivery slip and we will be sure that your child gets their delivery.
Reminder for 4th and 5th grades: Homework will not be delivered to classrooms.  Any homework will go into their respective teacher’s mailbox and the teacher will pick it up when they check their mail.

DESTINATION IMAGINATION – CALLING ALL 1ST AND 2ND GRADERS!!!

Destination Imagination has a fun program just for you.
It’s called Rising Stars.

With Destination Imagination, kids work on a team to create things and solve a team challenge.  The challenge is noncompetitive, which helps ease pressure and lets kids play and experiment with their solutions. However, there is a showcase option, which allows teams to perform their solutions at a tournament.

Right now we have one first grader interested and one parent who would like a co-coach. We need more kids and at least one more adult. If you’re interested, please email Ms. Annie at anne_witwer@dpsk12.org. You can also get lots more information at www.destinationimagination.org. There is training and support for coaches.

Please say yes!!!

FRIENDS OF CORY DIRECT GIVING CAMPAIGN

Friends of Cory – The Results Are In!

Donations are in and we reached our goal by the deadline!
After counting corporate matches, recurring donation totals and donations coming in by foundations,

we raised a total of $79,460 from 240 families!!!

This means we can continue to provide support for

  • Paraprofessional educators
  • Full-time Music, Art, and PE teachers
  • School events and enrichment programs
  • Technology upgrades

If you didn’t get a chance to donate during the campaign window, the campaign site will remain open for donations: fundrazr.com/GivetoCory.com

Four of our grades had 75% or more of their families donate!  That’s incredible!  Those grades will get a popsicle recess after fall break.

If you donated on the fundrazr site, you should have received an emailed tax receipt immediately upon submitting your contribution.  For those who donated by cash or check, you should be receiving one shortly, if not already.  If you have any questions regarding Friends of Cory, please contact: friendsofcorycampaign@gmail.com

A huge THANK YOU to all who donated!
Without you, the wonderful “extras” that make
Cory an amazing school wouldn’t be possible.
